4 weeks to go...: Work - X Revealed! - City

Time flies... I left 4 more weeks....

This week nth much happened... we finished up our rat modelling and we get to model a face which we took damn long to model because we dunno where to cut !!! not easy at all... some details are upgraded by Korro...

this is my rat... Mutated one.. a mix breed of rabbit, sheep and rat... >.<

The 'expose' was funny and awkward at the same time..... everything happened so suddenly... i jus happened to hear someone calling 'X' name'out of nowhere, he revealed his name to us thru one of the msges but we still dunno how he looks...

Curious I stood up.. I went 'hi'...

The guy pondered for a moment and went to extreme shyness....Frantic!

He and his friend kinda 'arguing' in front of me.. while i ????? and continue pack my things and see them 'arguing'... (the guy was trying to hide...)

Then he was tooo embarrassed to face us though kena pushed by his friends to tok to us... and in the end we went off....We turned around and say bye to him and his friends in a friendly way...:)

The nxt day we receive msg from him which went 'oh crap oh crap u saw my face!' for most of the lines....He is a very interesting guy.... Hahaha....oh yah! he looked younger than I expected... hahah... all bcos of the misleading moustache....

And then our friendshp started... haha...

We also went to the city after work on tue of some celebration in the city...rony brought us there... kinda missed the floats.... haiz.... its too late.... den we went to meet up with Sible and Pravin...Pravin went to extract 2 of his wisdom tooth.. surprisingly he still can talk...O.O

oh wells... a pretty big fun fair going on..with some stuffs we nv see before.. what they hav singapore also hav.... wad singapore dun hav...they also have... hahah...

Like for this funnel shaped structured building... its actually used to perform some car and motorcycles tricks... and then they hav dog show which we didnt go in... mirror which mutated your reflection.... cali flower chilly? 0.0???

Tried some tattoo... Wei Ling's one is nice... Mine is only 2 scorpion.. and it faded...

Somehow for no reason, I got Stomach flu these few days...

For this week..kinda only worked for 2 days...LOL...Thanks to Onam!!!! Hahaha!
Wei Ling's mom came and we went out on saturday to Varkala Beach~~
Nice place.. I will show u why....

First we hav to take a train there....
3 words to describe this train experience: no clue.... no clue.... no clue...

We got no idea which station to take... no idea how to read the SO not user-friendly train ticket and we hav no idea where we should alight...

We got off the correct station anyway with some help.. hahah...the people here are nice though...

Day 44 'Snake Boat Race'

10th Sept

We were heading to work when (suddenly) we met Vinu at the entrance and then (suddenly) the next second we are in the bus going to catch the snake boat race! He then said that he will settle the people inside for us... Muahaha!

That was so impromptu... O.O

Going there was long and tiring and ATSUI lar... my seat is like filled with my sweat...When we reached, all we did was walk, walk, transfer boat and transfer boat...

This tiny skinny snake boat can actually fit 50 people inside arh.... wonder if its the same for the dragonboat? cos seems to me like dragonboat got more space and yet hav lesser people than the snakeboat?

It was not long before i had the thought whether we hav been 'conned' by this tour company'...the organisation was terrible... its a long story..
*Sigh Sigh*

In the end we ( & our colleauge) hav to took a bus and a taxi back... so pratically...we did nth ...

Day 42 & 43... Screwed...

These few days hav been SCREWED by rat modelling...Kinda given up on this aready....im like typing my post now instead of doing work...

Oh wells...

SCREW the rat...feeling crappy thanks to the rat...

We had some celebration at the office today.... Most of our male colleague wore their traditional mundu to work today...haha..risky man...if people gets playful... there goes... hahah.. Rahul put on belt for security..haha...Sible and Pravin wore it too...quite a sight..haha..

Drums starts off and people dressing up as King Mahabali,( Check out his bushy moustache!!!) some hunters and leopards began touring round the campus with people following behind..cheering and ‘dancing’...

After that we joint in the queue to have our try on their traditional Keralan feast that was made only for today... it was called the onam sadya... a feast served on banana leaves and serves rice along with lots of stuffs... the side dish are mostly curries but different versions... sweet, spicy, sour,hot/chilled...etc..the queue was damn long...

And somehow we received special treatment...feel quite bad arh...they queue so long den we cut queue..hahah

AND WE USE OUR HANDS TO EAT FOR THE FIRST TIME!

Kinda looked ‘bad’ now cos i kinda mess up my food... first time use hand arh..my food keep dropping... The food was nice and very fulling though we ate like half portion or rather ¼ portion of wat the others are taking... O.O they do sure eat alot!

Day 41: Ponmudi~~~

Sunday 7th Sep...
We went to a place called ponmudi...had to take a bus from the city in order to get there. Spent quite some time at the bus station trying to find the correct bus to take because the signs are mostly in Hindi!

The ride was about 2 hrs long and bumpy! We have to get through 20+ hairpin bends which winds up that mountain... yesh... imagine the fact that I stood in the bus for like the whole 2 hrs plus, swaying? I gave up standing only when near reaching and it got too bumpy and im kinda ‘dancing’ in the bus with all the turns and all...

Doesn’t feel any better even when we are sitting down... our butts hurts! And i saw a woman spat on the floor...O.O

Therez this ruckus going on in the bus...which i dunno wad happened...It rained..and its quite foggy there which reminded me of Silent Hill...Freezing cold too...tsk! Found a leech on my leg...bwah... There goes my blood...

But anyway the scenery is nice...show u some fotos!

Was quite some trip that day! Haha...cos this is like the first time we went to a far place by ourselves without any of our colleague accompanions...

Day 37 - 39... Today is thursday...

A week of Maya... Sounds bad to me...cos i wasnt a very computer guy ya know..... things jus went bad like menu bar disappearing, or often i will go ‘how to i make that shape??’, ‘ Its not working??’ and etc. Wei Ling is doing a great job... left me down there... so depressing...

For the first few days... we are modeling the car tyre... the rubber tyre and the rim took me 3 days to model...not even finished yet... and it looked something like this... (picture) Den we got to model a pot with flowers and leaves... begin to gain some speed in modelling so its good..... thatz my pot... dunno whether its modelled correctly anot... wait till i add colors to it..and i will post it here...

Away from the work...Corro showed us some magic tricks... hahha...

Then we saw this ‘celebration’ going on at one of the buildings where we had lunch... its for onam festival that is coming up... We see people creating multi-coloured floral decoration on the ground called pookkalam. They hav some cheers going on which echoed the whole building...interesting... hahah... didnt managed to take shots of it cos lunch break is over soon and we hav to rush back....

At night, it looked like this on the road... Not that bad...

Had normal working days....

Got this huge long frame that i needed to draw.... o.O
Its a action and a panning shot.. thatz explain the 'long' part... so i hav to draw out the movement poses... -_-lll.... the design is ok.. but the poses are....screwed! lol...

But received good comments from colleagues so Im quite happy and relieved.
Suddenly got quite some add ons... flash den maya...

Tuesday (26 august)we've got our new workload, was told that our names will appear in the credits! Finally we are doing production work! Hah...

Did some lip synch for flash today, the audio was in German... gosh..dun understand... and its also when i found out that my flash knowledge is really the basic's basic.... so much things can be done with 'symbols'.. and i didnt know it until now... this shows something....tatz quite sad....T..T

Now i know what Yvonne means.... LoL...

Hope Daddy Rony gets well soon... he doesnt seemed to be well these few days.. yup yup... Tummy not well... hmmm...Dunno whether if its the hot and sour chicken soup i ordered for him.. didnt know he cant take spicy food... oopz.... nevertheless...hope he is okie....

2^nd destination: Mattancherry @ around 5pm?

We will hav to take a boat from Sealord Jetty on Shanmugham Road, Ernakulam. Ladies have the privilege to get the tickets first and get on the boat first... so yeah do bring a female friend along if u dun wan to wait damn long jus to get the damn ticket! Haha... Wei ling bought the tickets for us... woots~

First time see a boat functioned by a really retro old looking machine...O.O.. the whole journey was crowded...squeezy and sleepy...and slow... hahha.

When we reached the place, its kinda getting dark and the Mattancherry Palace is like not open...

We took pictures there however... haha... The gate of squeeze... sqeeze in and out if u can....

Day 29 : 24th August Sunday....Part I

Ginger Hotel @ 5.30 am

Its 5.30am! Woke up Damn early last Sunday cos we are going to Kochi ( Cochin), central of Kerala. It will took us 4 hours to get there by car, and Rony brought us there. And special thanks to his 2 friends too, guiding us along the way... really need to know their names man... LoL... ( Yes...bad me cant remember their names.... apologise...)

Along the way... we came upon this rice fields... cool view... this is where rice are born, yesh... ppl step step, cow shit shit and out became our delicious koko fat rice! I jus add koko for fun... hahah.

Along the way, we talk and sleep, wake up, talk and sleep and wake up, talk and sleep... den randomly i woke up and look out of the car... saw some stuff dangling on the electric cable wires...they are bats! They are dead, all zapped to death i suppose... didnt manage to snap it cos im in the car... nearly knocked down a dog.... phew...

We stopped at Prince hotel for breakfast... and we continue our journey... Rony wans a GF~ hahah...

1^st destination: Thripunithura Palace @ 1pm

The place is huge man... Need to climb up these long stairs to get to the top. Quite nice cos we see butterflies all around us and birds fly fly.... hahhah

The palace is now an eclectic museum.’ No Photography Allowed’.... well its a museum... saw this huge real-life looking elephant sculpture that was curved out from a huge tree..its huge man... think wei ling and I and a few more people can fit in the sculpture... haha

Therez a door, i wonder wadz inside.......... hmmm....

Further down we see things like jewels, accessories, gold and silver ornaments, ritual objects that was used in grand ceremonies and many more. There is this crown that was like 500 yrs old!!! And its still shining... lol with lots of gems, gold, emerald...diamonds~~~~

Therez a deer park in it... cool adorable deers~~ hahha... reminds me of a peanut brand product...

Have been seeing corpse these few days... not corpse as in 'corpse' but animal corpse laying beside the road.... all the while it has been like cats ... which hav been 'flattened' or ran down by cars? Recently jus saw one bloated one at the otherside of the road den after that it was covered by a cloth by someone and then just as i thought it was not there, we saw another corpse... this time round is like a mangoose or something...

Its quite a bizarre.... scary too... didnt take a photo of it cos yeah... jus let it go in peace man...

Oh yeah... 'Mysterious' drew something for us again! hahah... and everyone is like wondering who this person is.... all trying to guess and finding clues... and my table became some sorta 'table msn '... they all leave their msges here.... jus like how i communicate with 'Mysterious'... hahah..

Its 15th August, India's Independence day! hah received small gifts and flags are all around the place.... look at our office... hahah... full of flags and balloons~ hee

Saw this on the floor of our hotel... India 61 yrs old liao...

Since its holiday, we no need go for work today! And Rony said that he is bringing us somewhere, at first we are going to watch a movie but therez a change of plans.. we went to the zoo instead... Pravin came too and subsequently Sible came later ... hahha....

Totally opposite from us whom are more camera shy...

Boy Returns....Updates for this whole week...

Week 03 : 11th Aug ~ 15th Aug

So sorry for not updating any posts for so many days...

This whole week was damn tiring, by the time I reach my hotel its so late aready and some days there wasnt any internet connection available for me for quite some days ... but doesnt matter anYmore! muaahahh! here I am! Yvonne missed me right~ hahaha...

Last sunday i went back to kovalam to exhchange some faulty stuffs, and yup it got changed, thanks to the auntie, shez so nice, she hurted her legs, hope she gets well soon. And of course we visit the other shop we went previously too, but didnt buy from him because its still early to buy gifts for now... but no matter what he still showed us around, business is not so good here because most of the shops are selling the same things. Overall, hope they are doing well...!

Basically, this whole week we have beening touched on toon boom, currently learning the basics like tracing and rigging. Rigging is tough work!!!!! lots of things to note and so on, like for example the arm, have to divide into like 3 parts : upper arm, lower arm, palm, den after adding parent peg to them they still hav to be arranged and by the time you expand the whole thing, its disastrous!!!! >.<

Our energy was sucked off by this toon boom everyday~

so confusing the steps.. need to familiar with the shortcuts...@...@... but gradually, i got a hold of it so it isnt that hexing for me.... and of course we hav my funky colleague Rony to teach us this rigging part....

Got to know new names and faces: Rony, Anoop and Pravin Stanley Johnson... hahah... not 5 person but 3.... hahah... will show you their photos later... Cool people they are~ lol.. and their appearance is damn deceiving can... we went for lunch together once and was guessing their age, i only got one of age correct or rather closest... I CANT believe my eyes~ weiling's eyes too~

Somebody drew these for us, so nice... was chatting with this 'X' , we kinda havin a msn convo on a piece of paper on my lightbox, so everyday i came back, i will see his/her msg there... so mysterious....

Not sure if i was bitten by the sandflies, or mosquito or by some random insects, i’ve got insect bites on my limbs and all....damn itchy can ... and of all things in first aids, i only brought insect repeller, and not the antiseptic cream...now put repeller also too late aready x....x

Not sure wadz the problem but i don feel alright today, dunno whether its the food or because i didnt rest enough... not in best condition... cant concentrate on work...

Veni brought us to see an apartment hotel. Its a huge one... even bigger than my house i think, the person in charge offered us a really good price; even cheaper than the current one that we are staying. but all and all, we still decidng...

My ‘Stage’ lesson wasn’t going smoothly today... i just cant do it properly...:(

Need to buck up man... really dun wanna disappoint Sible and all. They are putting efforts to teach but things just couldnt get into my head...

Monkey-face plate with its mouth made up of my egg fried rice... I have eaten half way through but it still looked like a new plate to me. The portion here is DAMN HUGE... Its common to see a skinny lady with a pile of mountain of rice infront of her here...O..O

Day 10

Besides work... therez nothing much today to talked about... cant seem to find anybody today... so we are kinda like stranded here... have been waiting to get papers since thursday, but seems like that room is locked since that day and we still didn’t get papers...

No papers... no work... so did some doodling and practice my drawing skill on used papers...

Hope we get our papers tmr!

Showed Corro, my shifu~~~~~ ( the holy artist, he starts drawing at the age of 10!) the 3 pieces and though therez still have some changes but i can see that there are improvements made. The changes made is minor, jus abit to the left and right and im within the range... so quite happy... ~

Since we cant find anybody today, we went off earlier.

Was Rushing back to hotel to bathe before the sun sets.... Its kinda risky to bathe at night because i dun wanna to hav a blackout in between my bath and spoil my wonderful bath!

Not feeling well today... Taken medicine already, rested early...

Day 09 : Kovalam Beach~~~

Have been looking forward for this day to come! For the whole week, this is the day we have been looking forward to after 5 to 6 days of work!

This is Kovalam Beach~~

Hohohoho... cost us 300 rupees to get there by autotrishaw from here... saw huge lumps of shit at the roadside... wonder if its from the elephant’s... the auto trishaw too fast.. didnt manage taking a shot of it. Hahaha...

Before you can get into the beach... you have to pass through this row of shops... Scary is because, tons of promoters are standbying down there to pull you into their shops.... but there are interesting things and products around... so wont hurt to take a look. they have souveniors ranging from statues to hand-made products like bags, shoes and many more.

Had our lunch there, hahah, I got this seafood platter for like 500 rupees which is about S$16? It consist of fish, prawn masala and sotongs with some herbs, and with rice and one chapatti... its kinda big proportion and in front of us is the sea... hoots! And the food is nice...no doubt... hahah.

For some reason, many people keep asking if we are from Japan or Korea... people starts 'genki' and 'konnichiwa' us. Maybe because we looked 'asian'...thatz why... perhaps?

During our walk walk see see... there are promoters again trying to sell their goods to us, and we are easy targets because firstly we are the only Asians there, (kinda of) secondly, we are students, innocent harmless student... T...T..

We are often stalked by particularly 2 groups: ‘The Pineapple Beauties’ & ‘The Drum Handsomes’... they keep persuading us to buy their things and tend to find faults at the products that we have bought earlier and keep following us wherever we go.

Got one of the ‘drum handsomes’ actually eyeing on my handphone. Of course i wont agree in whatever terms he named for my phone... No No No...we began to flee like refugees when we see these 2 groups... kinda irritaing but well, they are trying to earn for a living so I always decline them with a smile... J haha.

Day 08

Well nothing happen today because its a Saturday... even though we went to the office and yeah nothing much happens... not everyone is here...

I will jus touch on things that I have not covered...

Working hours will be from 8:30am till 5:30pm...with toon boom training will last till 7:30pm.
Working days will be weekdays... Saturday is optional for us and Sunday off... (Saturday and Sunday are holidays)

Was randomly looking out of the window and saw this elephant walking past....

We have been dropping quite some hair like ah ma... and we got like this small bugs that keep appearing on us out of nowhere... like little ants. Hope its not something bad... but the situation improved... I got none of these now.

Wonder if its from the birds or something, oh yah didnt metion about the birds...
Seems like there are some birds living jus outside Wei Ling’s room at some crack on the wall and we can always hear them making noises, and therez some weird smell after a few days.

Wei Ling got her room changed after that... we went to the city again to buy some things and tatz all... haha...

Tmr should be exciting.... muahahah...hint* hint*

Day 04 ~ 07

Day 04 - 07

We start from the basics; we were given 5 keyframes to draw and thatz when we started to feel demoralised and realised how unprepared we are for the industry. Our foundation is like not even there. W e were then taught drawing perspective drawing, sketching different human poses and so on.
Thatz me in office....

We were also taught how to use toon boom too... its called ‘stage’ here. Dunno why... hmmm

Sible is the one teaching us and very thankful to him and some other people because they hav to stay until 7:30pm with us jus to teach us. And lagging me took quite some time to get it... haiz...

This goes on for some days, we kinda feel bored doing the same thing over and over again... but wad to do? Our basics not even there, and pratice makes perfect! Lots of practice until thurs we were given 3 new scenes to draw... Wei Ling was so happy... LoL...

But the 3 new scenes are more difficult to draw...T__T INSANE DETAILS!!!

And we got our local lines aready... and its super long... +91 97479 68406... trying to know how it works too... oh wells...

Food wise.... well... we had a varieties; its either eating in our hotel or eating at the food courts in technopark... or Subway! the price is kinda cheap here... around 135 rupees which is around S$3+?

Hahahha... So far so good, didn’t get any food poisoning or so... jus that maybe at first tummy feels weird after eating, but dun worry nothing happens and yah need to drink lots of water tatz all.... the food here is kinda heavy flavoured... took some pictures of our food we have eaten...

Day 03

Day 03

Finally we get to meet the people in toonz animation. It is located in a park call technopark where all the business companies gather and stay together... toonz animation is in a building call Nila... 7th floor... and half of the whole stretch belongs to toonz.. kinda big huh... our ginger hotel is located near it and we hav to walk quite abit to reach.

We will have to walk this dangerous road... with vehicles one inch away from us... and at night there is total no lights~~...

We spent the whole day walking around getting know the people and obviously, we don’t remember most of their names...because they looked all the same and yeah their names are either too hard to remember or similar or confusing...

However we got some of their name cards... and it really helps us a lot in identifying them.. their namecards are kinda cool..because their caricature is printed on it too.. we tot it looked kinda cool and I went for a collect namecards frenzy.... hahah.. cos its COOL!!!

We were wondering if we will get one when we leave... hahaha .....

Well, we will be working under Renju on a project called ‘Shiva’... we were introduced to their work crew; Rahul, Coro, Sankeer and Sible and more. Dunno if I spelled their names correctly...

The people there are very friendly and approachable. We often hear like ‘its ok... its alright...’ whenever we got errs... and they are willing to teach us when we are so UNSKILLED in many ways. Kinda feel bad cos we are suppose to do work for them and its another way round now.

Went lunch with PJ, he is VERY comical and full of expressions... hez cool... thanks for the ride and guide. He currently actually working on a monkey project which kinda related to Wei Ling... haha... After that is more intros...bwah....and so on....

Didn’t know we can actually see this at our workplace... its not something we expect from a workplace... nice sceneries though its all trees... but ...nice... fresh air...

Day 02

It was a sunday...so we are free today!

Haha... we kinda dunno wad to do for awhile before we decided to step out of our hotels to do some exploration. heh...

The kind receptionist help us call for a auto trishaw and it cost us around 150 rupees to get to the city. The ride was fast, noisy, windy and SHIOK... hahah... it was quite an experience... we eventually felt that this is even more comfortable than taking plane... hahah...

We went to a city... Think the road is called MG road or something...
lots of crowd... the air is bad here... vehicles everywhere... honking and beeping.... -__-
people walking around...even on roads... kinda chaotic...

We walked around for some time... their signboards are in tamil... my gosh ... we do not know where the hell we are... so we asked some random lady for directions...walked some distance and we bought some everday stuffs and went back after that...

And we need to pay for our internet access... frownz.... cost us 130 rupees per hr or 330 rupees unlimited within 24 hrs.... frequent blackouts.....

ZAK! there it goes again... speaking of the devil...

Day 01

Decided to create a blog afterall... -_-
Will try to update this blog whenever I can.... Ignore my grammers and so on... LoL!

So here it goes folks.....

Day 01
I had lunch with my family at sakae teppanyaki at the airport... a short lunch rather but it was nice. Rarely had a chance to eat as a family for quite some time... So even though its short but yah... got FEEL one.... T...T...

And special thanks to Michelle and Huat for coming! haven seen them for a while.... Jian how and Jillian didnt come but its okie.... they are busy with something else.. did some conversations with them on the phone so yah still not too bad... should have taken photos with them sia...

The flight was jerky and sleepy but as long as it didnt crash its fine with me.... its kinda stuffy and squeezy and i got the side seat but since its at night, its all dark outside... wasted sia... can see some lights though....

The plane arrived a bit late and someone picked us up at the airport and we got a warm welcome from the HONKS and BEEPS, its all over the place. and yeah... kinda landed on some weird planet or something... people just like to stare at us...

We then took a car ride to our hotel... it is damn dark outside... so dark until I cant even see my fingers in the car. There are no street lights everywhere! and as usual... the HONKS and BEEPS... kinda irritating... bwah...

Here it is! Ginger hotel... here is where we stay..... for now... i guess....

And YES I KNOW, I cop the pictures from the net.... Anyway, they hav restaurants and many facilities and so on can check it out online.... So its a nice place...
